Project Description
Vessels for Stories was a collaborative project using the iconography of the boat as a metaphor to investigate historical and contemporary relationships between Indonesia and Australia.
Over a month in 2013, myself and theatre maker, Anna Weekes, collaborated with artists from Rumata Artspace and Kala Teater in Makassar, Indonesia.
Together, we explored trade and exchange through spoken word, dance, music, physical theatre and puppetry.
The performance of Vessels for Stories opened the 2013 Makassar International Writers Festival.
